Setup includes firmware update files for the Toshiba SD-R6012 drive.

What's new in firmware 1N34 and 1M34: Resolves the issue where you always get 'data verification error' when writing on DVD-R/RW media with Record Now DX 4.xx and Toshiba SD-R6012 DVDRW drive.

How do you see the drive model and firmware revision?

1.Click Start

2.Right click My Computer

3.Click Manage

4.In Computer Management screen click Storage in the left window pane

5.Click Libraries where you will see the removable drives

6.Right click TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R6012 in the right window pane

7.Click Properties

8.Click Device Information tab

9.Read the line called Revision and check if it is 1N31 or 1M31

Warning: Sometimes Device Information will still show the old Revision after updating the firmware. To confirm whether the update was successfull, run the update tool again. If it reports that an 'update is not needed' then it is OK.

Install Notes

First check the model and firmware revision of your drive (see technical notes).

Run setup and select the correct firmware revision:

- Toshiba SD-R6012 drive with revision 1M31, please install SDR6012-1m34.exe

- Toshiba SD-R6012 drive with revision 1N31, please install SDR6012-1n34.exe

Note: please read and follow the instructions carefully! The system will reboot to prepare for the firmware update, the firmware update itself will start when system is back in Windows! The update can take up to 3 mins. to complete!
